Please book in advance. Tours will be available in the evenings, at the weekends and during school holidays.
The information provided on this website is for general informational purposes only. While I strive to ensure that all details, including itineraries, pricing, availability, and descriptions, are accurate and up to date, they are subject to change without notice.
Every tour is delivered in accordance with the professional standards of the Guild of Battlefield Guides. I place particular emphasis on group mutual respect, building trusted relationships with clients, and maintaining an appropriate duty of care throughout the experience.
Tours, activities, and services are subject to availability and may be affected by factors beyond my control, including but not limited to weather conditions, local access, transportation issues, and unforeseen circumstances.
I reserve the right to modify, substitute, or cancel any part of a tour or itinerary when necessary for safety, operational, or logistical reasons.
Customers are usually advised to have travel insurance to cover cancellation charges, medical expenses, and potential loss.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet all tour arrangements in terms of clothing, footwear, etc. As they say, there is no such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing.
Shetland War Tours are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, delay or inconvenience arising from tours, except where required by law. By booking a tour with me, you agree to comply with all terms and conditions as well as any instructions provided by our guide or partners.

Cancellation Policy.
I understand that plans can change, and that you may have to change or cancel a tour booking. To cancel a booking, please contact me at [email protected] and provide details of the tour date and focus. Your cancellation becomes effective when I receive your written request.
Unless a different policy is stated on a wider or adjacent tour page the following cancellation charges apply:
- Tours cancelled less than 4 weeks [28 days] before the date will be charged.
- Tours cancelled more than 4 weeks before the date will be recieve 50% refund.
- Failure to attend or late arrival: No Refund.
Note: For cruise ship passengers – if your ship cannot dock in Lerwick due to weather conditions or otherwise, you will receive a 75% refund.
It is recommended that all guests take out insurance that covers such possibilities.
